Leatherwood Honey
Its been a while since I last posted here.
Summer is very busy at our place, Mr Wattlebird has excelled in the vegetable garden this year so I have been flat out processing produce. We freeze beans, passata, pesto and blackberries, bottle rhubarb, pears, apples, tomatoes, passata and nashi. I also make blackberry syrup, a lot of jams, pickles and chutneys. The pantry is looking spectacular, we will have plenty of interesting things to eat over the coming year.
Now its Autumn the garden is slowing down and its time to concentrate on yarn again.
Leatherwood is my latest colourway now available on 4 ply sock as well as 8 ply sock.
Deep in Tasmania's cool temperate rainforests on the remote West Coast of the island grows the Leatherwood tree. You will only find this tree in this special rainforest in Tasmania and when it flowers its simple white flowers fill the air with a distinctive fragrance. The nectar from these flowers makes the iconic Leatherwood honey, one of the strongest tasting honeys in the world, this is liquid gold. This colourway "Leatherwood" is inspired by these wonderful pots of golden honey. Have you tasted Leatherwood honey?

Another new colourway is Shipstern Bluff.
Shipstern Bluff is an iconic Tasmanian big wave surf break. The towering cliffs and enormous waves make for some spectacular surfing images. These pictures of swirling seas inspired my latest blue colourway.

Soon the air will become cooler and the trees will begin their Autumn transformation and it will be knitwear time again, I just love snuggling up in a cosy hand knit, how about you?
Until next time
Happy knitting
