Winter- time for 8 ply/DK socks!

Hello Friends

It's been a while since I last posted here, its the depths of Winter so this Wattlebird likes to hibernate a little. At this time of year I long for the daffodils to start flowering, they give me hope that winter is nearly over. Mine are all in pots this year and today I saw the first buds starting to show colour, so it won't be long now.

I hope everybody that went to Bendigo had a wonderful time, maybe next year I shall have to go for a look. I am a bit afraid I will be totally intimidated by all the gorgeous yarn. Imposter syndrome is alive and well!

Exciting news, I have managed to source some 8 ply sock wool. I only ordered a small batch to experiment with and I can say that I love it. It dyes beautifully and is a dream to knit. I'm working on a pair for my Husband in Liawenee colourway, using a Steven West pattern "Prowl". I think it will take one and a half skeins to make a pair of size 10 men's socks.

Most of the first batch has been snaffled by my knitting friends already, so I am now waiting on another order to arrive.

The colours I have in stock now are:

1 skein of Liawenee

2 skeins of Banksia

and 2 skeins of Forth

I will have many more colours available in the next couple of weeks.

Stay warm

Anne
